Cymbal Forensics is a web platform for forensic spectral analysis of struck-idiophone recordings — cymbals, gongs and bells — operated by Dr Zlatko Baracskai, a sole trader based in Bristol, United Kingdom (www.zlatko.hu). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.
Audio you upload and forum posts you write remain yours. By uploading, you grant us the limited licence needed to store, decode, analyse, and display that content to provide the service (including showing public takes and cymbals in the public library when you mark them public). You can request permanent removal of all your content at any time, and choose whether to purge everything or keep your public contributions (anonymised or named); removal is processed as described in the Privacy Policy.
Some features require a paid subscription (Member or Researcher) or a one-off purchase. Payments are processed by Paddle.com as merchant of record; by purchasing you also accept Paddle's buyer terms. Prices are shown before you confirm; any applicable VAT or sales tax is calculated and added by Paddle at checkout based on your location. Subscriptions are recurring: the Member ($10/month) and Researcher ($50/month) plans renew automatically each month at the then-current price until you cancel, and the card on file is charged each renewal. You can cancel at any time — from your account settings or via your Paddle receipt — to stop future renewals. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which includes a 14-day money-back guarantee. Donations made via PayPal are voluntary gifts and confer no contractual obligations.
Cymbal Forensics is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. No uptime, fitness, or accuracy guarantees are made. Analysis results are provided for research and informational purposes and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any decision. Features may change or be removed.
Analysis algorithms, source code, and UI are © Dr Zlatko Baracskai. Audio you upload remains yours.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranty of any kind, and the author shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, nor for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. The author is not liable for data loss — maintain your own backups of important recordings. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. You may close your account at any time from your account settings. When a subscription ends and no active access remains — or when you close your account — your content is kept for a 30-day grace window (to re-subscribe or export) and then permanently removed per the Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. Nothing here affects mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
